Service Terms and Conditions: Floors Solutions

These Terms and Conditions govern the flooring services provided by Floors Solutions, represented by Rafael Alvarado ("the Contractor"), to the customer ("the Client"). By accepting a quote or scheduling a service, the Client agrees to be bound by the following:

1. Scope of Work

Floors Solutions will perform the services described in the written estimate provided to the Client. Any additional work or changes to the project requested by the Client after the start of the project will require a new estimate or a written change order.

2. Estimates and Pricing

  • Estimates are valid for thirty (30) days from the date issued.

  • The final price may vary if unforeseen conditions are discovered (e.g., damaged subflooring, moisture issues) that were not visible during the initial inspection.

3. Payments

  • Deposit: A deposit of [Insert Percentage, e.g., 30-50%] is required to schedule the start date and purchase materials.

  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due immediately upon substantial completion of the work.

  • Late Fees: Payments delayed by more than [X] days will incur a late fee of [X]%.

4. Client Responsibilities

  • Access: The Client must provide access to the property during agreed-upon working hours.

  • Furniture & Appliances: Unless otherwise specified in the estimate, the Client is responsible for moving all furniture, appliances, and breakable items from the work area.

  • Environment: The Client must ensure that the HVAC system is operational and set to a stable temperature (65-75°F) at least 48 hours before, during, and after wood floor installation or refinishing to allow for proper material acclimation and finish drying.

5. Dust and Fumes

  • While Floors Solutions uses professional dust containment systems, refinishing and installation are construction processes. A small amount of dust is inevitable.

  • Floor finishes may emit odors. It is recommended that pets and sensitive individuals vacate the premises during the application and drying phases.

6. Natural Wood Characteristics

The Client acknowledges that wood is a natural product. Variations in color, grain, and texture are natural characteristics and are not considered defects. Wood floors will react to changes in humidity by expanding or contracting.

7. Warranty

Floors Solutions provides a [Insert Time, e.g., 1-year] limited warranty on labor/workmanship.

  • This warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, pet scratches, water damage, extreme humidity changes, or improper maintenance.

  • Material warranties are provided directly by the manufacturer of the flooring product used.

  • The Client must provide at least [48-72] hours' notice to reschedule or cancel a service.

9. Liability

Floors Solutions is not liable for damage to hidden utility lines (gas, water, electrical) not disclosed by the Client or for pre-existing structural issues in the property.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state where the work is performed (Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia).

Acceptance: By signing the estimate or paying the deposit, the Client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
